The mental load refers to the invisible, relentless thinking that’s required to manage a household, relationships, and family life. It’s the planning, remembering, anticipating, organizing, and executing that often falls disproportionately on women. It’s the absence of conversations, collaboration, teamwork, and structure.

The mental load is:

Hi, I’m Rebecca — a certified life coach, licensed clinical social worker, a partner, and a woman who knows firsthand what it means to carry the invisible weight of it all.

Before I created the SHIFT Journey, I was exactly where many of you are now — juggling the roles of planner, emotional regulator, logistics manager, and financial advisor, not just for myself but for my partner too. All the while, I was quietly wondering when he was going to get it and start doing more.

At the time, I didn’t have the tools, the language, or the confidence to shift the dynamic. I thought, “Maybe this is just what being a good partner looks like.” So I stayed stuck — overwhelmed, resentful, and frustrated.

That’s why I created the SHIFT Journey. It's the program I desperately needed back then — and the one I now offer to women who feel similarly unseen and stretched thin.

  • Coaching is a structured, solution-focused approach that aims to support clients to achieve specific goals to live a more satisfied and fulfilled life. Coaching sessions identify targeted outcomes and utilize various techniques through powerful questioning to achieve clarity and confidence in the next steps. Coaching is provided by certified life/wellness/health coaches.

    Therapy utilizes evidence-based therapeutic interventions designed to treat diagnosed mental health disorders, such as anxiety, depression, adhd, trauma, etc. Therapy is provided by licensed mental health professionals.

    Coaching should never be a replacement for therapy. However, they often can work well together to support your goals.

  • Coaching services are not yet covered by insurance companies.

    To help make the financial investment feel accessible, I do offer flexible payment plan options which can be discussed upfront.
